ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Barbara Godin received her B.A. from Athabasca University, Edmonton, Alberta Canada. She began writing her popular “Dear Barb” column in 2003. In 2019 Barbara won the first-place award in a short article contest from the prestigious Professional Writers Association of Canada (PWAC) for “Mary’s Story.” Barbara is the author of five books. "Dear Barb: Answers to Your Everyday Questions" "Glimpses in Time: A Collection of Memoirs and More" also "Dear Barb 2: Advice for Daily Life” “Can I Come HOME Now?" is a bestselling memoir of her life. Barbara’s latest book “Seasons of the Heart” a collection of poetry. Barbara was born in Windsor Ontario Canada. Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

I love to read, write, and share my work with others. I enjoy long hikes and cycling.

When and why did you start writing books?

I have always kept a journal, it helped me deal with a chaotic home situation. Eventually, I decided to share my feelings in the hopes of helping others who may be in a similar situation.

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

Writing is such an enjoyable art, it does not feel like work.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

"Can I Come HOME Now?" is my favorite book as it was very cathartic to reveal myself as I did in my story.

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

My latest book "Seasons of the Heart" was a new venture for me, as I have not written a lot of poetry. However I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will write another poetry book soon.

Who is your favourite author and book?

Jeannette Walls is my favorite author.

What book are you reading right now?

I am reading "Madhouse at the end of the earth" by Julian Sanction. Love it!

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

My inspiration comes from within.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Walking, hiking, cycling, and camping are my favorite activities.

Do you have any new books in the works?

Not presently, but you never know.
