Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

Having spent most of my life working, I've had a huge variety of jobs, all of which I've enjoyed. I live near the ocean now, so walking on the beach is a new favorite pastime, as is reading, sewing and making jewelry. I also love to spend time with my new puppy.

When and why did you start writing books?

Years ago I decided I could either change the sheets on my bed and clean my house or write a book. I wrote a book. It wasn't any good, but it did ignite my passion for writing.

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

I submitted a screenplay and it was optioned and then I had the opportunity to write an episode for a TV show. But I found writing novels more satisfying. And, after some positive feedback and a contract, I chose to work at it full time.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

That's like asking which of my children I like best...I love them all for different reasons.

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

Every book is easy to start but then I have to flex those muscles to get the pacing and the plot just right.

Who is your favourite author and book?

I think my all time favorite is "Ashes in the Wind" by Kathleen Woodiwiss. I can read that book over and over and get something new every time.

What book are you reading right now?

I just started "Brazen Virtue" by Nora Roberts in anticipation of the upcoming series.

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

Everywhere. People I meet, sometimes just taking a walk or going to the grocery. "The Morocco Series" was actually inspired by a trip to an Escape Room. It's a place where they create a scenario and you have an hour to find your way out of the room by interpreting clues. This room's theme was about being shanghaied and it gave me the idea.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I love to pursue my hobbies or just hang out and read or watch movies.

Do you have any new books in the works?

I do. I have a romantic suspense and a contemporary/historical going right now. I hope to get them out by April or May.
