ABOUT THE AUTHOR

My journey intertwines with the vibrant tapestry of culinary exploration and the quest for holistic well-being. A health and nutrition journalist by trade, I've wandered the globe, immersing myself in diverse dietary cultures. My passion for understanding the intricate connection between food and health has been a guiding force. Hailing from the sunny landscapes of California, my story is one marked by a pursuit of balance. While I've devoted years to decoding the mysteries of the Mediterranean diet, my personal health struggles formed the pivot point. Confronting my own health battles led me to the transformative power of the Low-FODMAP diet. ⭐📚 Visit my page "Amelia Gibson - Author & Wellness Advocate" for more content on Facebook and my Amazon Author Page at https://www.amazon.com/author/ameliargibson click "FOLLOW" to be notified about new releases.📚⭐

Exploring how food impacts our well-being is not just my profession, it's my passion. When I'm not immersed in creating flavorful, gut-friendly recipes, you'll often find me outdoors, embracing the tranquility of nature. Whether it's hiking through scenic trails or simply enjoying the fresh air, nature helps me find balance. Additionally, I find joy in expressing my creativity through various artistic pursuits, be it painting or indulging in some writing. When and why did you start writing books?

Writing became an avenue for me to share my profound journey in discovering the incredible impact of the Low-FODMAP diet on overall health. It's not just a career; it's a mission to empower others to make informed, healthier choices and savor life to the fullest.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

As a health and nutrition writer focused solely on non-fiction books and articles, I don't create characters or fiction. Each book I've penned is like a piece of my journey, an exploration of wellness and culinary experiences. It's challenging to pick a favorite as each work represents a unique aspect of my dedication to empowering individuals through knowledge about health, diets, and culinary wellness. If I had to select, I'd say 'The Low-FODMAP Diet Cookbook for Beginners' holds a special place, offering practical guidance for transforming health through flavorful, gut-friendly recipes.

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

Writing 'The Low-FODMAP Diet Cookbook for Beginners' was a unique challenge. While my other works delved into various culinary and health aspects, this book required a deep dive into a specialized diet that I, too, had personally adopted. The extensive research and crafting flavorful, FODMAP-friendly recipes while ensuring their accessibility to beginners stretched my creativity and writing skills. It was a journey of self-discovery and dedication to deliver a valuable resource to readers seeking dietary solutions for gut health.

Who is your favourite author and book?

As an author deeply engaged in the realm of health, nutrition, and culinary arts, I find Michael Pollan to be an exceptional influence. His book 'In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto' is a beacon in the exploration of food culture, nutrition, and the impact of dietary choices on our well-being. Pollan's insightful narrative and compelling approach to nutrition have significantly shaped my understanding and approach in my field. In my leisure time, I often find myself engrossed in the enchanting tales woven by Isabel Allende. 'The House of the Spirits' captivates me with its rich storytelling and compelling narrative. Allende's ability to create vivid worlds and deeply resonate with human emotions leaves an indelible mark. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, with her mesmerizing book 'Americanah,' captures my attention with the depth of characters and the exploration of cultural complexities. Adichie's remarkable storytelling and profound insights into identity, race, and relationships make her work a personal favorite during my moments of relaxation and reflection. Of course, there are many other authors that I love and am inspired by, both in my professional and leisure activities.

What book are you reading right now?

I'm currently engrossed in 'The Flavor Bible' by Karen Page and Andrew Dornenburg. It's a fantastic guide that explores flavor pairings, perfect for enhancing the culinary experience.

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

My inspiration primarily stems from my personal journey towards better health. I've experienced firsthand the transformative power of dietary choices and the challenges of adopting a specific diet. This personal experience has been the driving force behind my commitment to share practical, flavorful, and health-conscious recipes with others who may be facing similar challenges. Additionally, my passion for culinary exploration and my background in health and nutrition journalism have fueled my desire to create resources that empower individuals to take control of their well-being through the joy of cooking and eating.
