ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Andy Slade is an Indie author who writes in different genres.

Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

I began writing in the 1970s with one-act plays. I've always had a fascination with writing, and it still continues to this day. Not only that, but I'm an avid walker, gardener, and nature lover. But, my one passion is fiction writing.

When and why did you start writing books?

In 2002, while I was going through some difficult personal situations, I wrote my first novel almost as a release. However, once I wrote, the thrill never left.

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

As I read many famous authors, I critiqued their writing and concluded that I could do as well as them or better. Perhaps that's egotistical, but that's how I felt. So, I took a deep dive into writing. And here I am today.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

I identify most with John Chayne, the protagonist in my novel, Betrayal is Beautiful.

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

My upcoming novel, Games, stretched me the most because it's a new genre for me.

Who is your favourite author and book?

Rober B. Parker, Trouble in Paradise (It's the dialogue in the book that does most of the character fulfillment. He's an amazing author.)

What book are you reading right now?

"Tell No One" by Harlan Coban

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

From everywhere and I never know exactly where it will come from. It just seems to happen.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Reading and walking

Do you have any new books in the works?

Yes. I have three in the works.
