Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

I enjoy traveling, especially to the Lake Erie islands, Key West, Chincoteague Island, Cayman Islands and North Carolina's Brunswick Islands. I'm a natural researcher and love meeting with people on my trips to interview them for future book ideas.

When and why did you start writing books?

My first mystery/adventure novel Rainbow's End was released on October 19, 2002. It surprised me by being a finalist as the Best Fiction Novel in the Great Lakes. Then the awards started coming in for my other books.

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

It was a dream I had since I was 8-years-old. While most of my writing experience was in the business world, I had written articles for boating magazines and took the step to writing fiction.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

Rainbow's End is my first born and introduces the series character Emerson Moore, an investigative reporter.

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

Rainbow's End as it was my first book.

Who is your favourite author and book?

Clive Cussler and his Raise the Titanic. I had met Clive and spoke at several of his conventions. Clive endorsed my book, Promised Land.

What book are you reading right now?

The Frontiersman

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

From newspaper articles, friends and my travels.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Meeting my readers at Coconut Commando parties around the country. It's a party where my readers can meet some of the actual, real-life characters in my books.

Do you have any new books in the works?

Breakwater Bay will be out this spring. It's high adventure in The Congo!
