ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I write to a general audience with themes about the high-tech world we live in. I don't write about or explain the technology; no bits and no bytes. I write about people and their lives. It isn't all bad; sure, there are injustices, abuses, and absurdities, but there are also benefits, conveniences, and opportunities. I grew up in a middle-class family, attended public schools, and have lived in Florida, the mid-Atlantic, and California. I’ve earned an engineering degree, a culinary degree, and an MBA, along with an alphabet soup of two, three, four, and five-letter initials that I won't bore you with here or in any of my books. My current literary interest is fiction, including short stories and novels, that explore how technology has transformed our lives by enabling a broad spectrum of behaviors. It is unclear to me if technology has delivered upon its promises, is a Modern Pandora’s Box, some combination, or something altogether different.

Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

I have traveled extensively for business and pleasure, have a passion for life, learning, culture, and cuisines, and admit to a love-hate relationship with technology. I live with the most amazing woman that I have ever met, and together, we hope to make the world a better place for everyone.

When and why did you start writing books?

I started writing as a creative outlet and self-published my first book about three years ago. I identify as a combination of artist, scientist, and craftsman with an ever-changing fraction on any given day that may exceed 100%. Being an author combines everything; life has taught me that truth is often stranger than fiction, and there are pearls of wisdom from decades of experiences that have found their way into the three books, hundreds of blog articles, and poetry that I write.

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

I still work in my primary career full-time.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

Dylan. He is a character in the short story/epilogue to the eMusketeers.

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

The eMusketeers. My prior books were all non-fiction, and my approach to using short stories made the project even more complicated. The project, including working with editors, took over two years to complete.

Who is your favourite author and book?

The Phoenix Project by Gene Kim, George Spafford, and Kevin Behr.

What book are you reading right now?

Starry Messenger by Neil deGrasse Tyson

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

Life and professional experiences, truth is often stranger than fiction.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Cooking, Sailing, Volunteering with the USCG Auxiliary, Playing Tennis, and Traveling

Do you have any new books in the works?

Yes. A novel that expands upon the theme of how technology impacts individuals, society, and culture.
