Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

I was born in America, raised in England, and now live in Japan. My hobbies include acting, taking walks (often while daydreaming), watching sci-fi, travelling both within Japan and around the world, following Norwich City no matter where I am, and spending time with my daughter and cats.

When and why did you start writing books?

I've been creating stories and characters in my head since childhood. Listening to music, especially film scores, often sparks vivid visual stories. If an idea is good, it sticks with me. As someone with dyslexia, writing has always been a challenge, but bringing my imagination to life on paper is an incredibly rewarding experience.

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

It's something I've always wanted to do. So I took the plunge.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

One character in my book, Gadabout the Great, has only a minor role in The Fallen Swallow, but he takes on a much larger role in the sequel. He was a humorous and entertaining character to write. I also have a fondness for Lily, the protagonist, and a character known as the dark wizard.

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

In The Fallen Swallow, I aimed to strike a balance between descriptive narrative, compelling action, dialogue, atmosphere, and character. It was a challenging balance to achieve, but one that I felt was essential to the story.

Who is your favourite author and book?

My favourite authors are J.K. Rowling, Stephen Fry, and Philip Pullman

What book are you reading right now?

Foundation by Isaac Asimov

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

Harry Potter

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Watching and playing sometimes football. Watching movies and reading or watching podcasts about the universe.

Do you have any new books in the works?

Yes. The sequel to The Fallen Swallow.
