ABOUT THE AUTHOR

A Romanian living in Ireland for the past decade, Diana found her passion for writing during lockdown when let's be honest, there wasn't much to do but read, write, and play video games for endless hours! In her writing, Diana leveraged what she had learned from two of her favorite authors: Stephen King and Nick Spalding. It sounds weird, combining horror with comedy, but Diana had managed to transform her passion and curiosity for the dark and morbid into something funny and sometimes downright wholesome! When she's not busy writing, you can find her at the gym, at home reading, or simply spending time with her partner and their two cats, Cali and Rocky. The Devil's Guide to Managing Hell is Diana's debut novel and part one of the After Life Duology.

Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

I am Romanian and have been living in Ireland for 10 years. I initially moved here to work, then started saving money for a masters degree, then ended up writing :) In my free time I love reading, playing video games and going to the gym.

When and why did you start writing books?

The idea for "The Devil's Guide to managing hell" came to me during the COVID-19 lockdown, when my partner and I were joking about writing a story about the devil to see how his very religious mother would react. I wrote the first short story (which later became Chapter 1 of the book), and, surprisingly, she loved it!

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

I have always loved reading and writing, but I never really considered it a career until the pandemic happened, which made me reconsider all the career choices I've made throughout my life. I decided then that I wanted to live life on my terms, and one of those terms was doing what I love most :)

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

It's easy - The Devil's Guide to Managing Hell! But that is only because I haven't written my next book yet!

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

TDGTMH was hard to write, as it was the first novel I ever tried to bring into existence. Up until then I only wrote short stories, so this was a completely new and intricate format to me. All in all, my debut novel took approximately two years to finish.

Who is your favourite author and book?

I love Stephen King, Nick Spalding, Victoria Aveyard, and Leigh Bardugo. It's hard to pick a singular book that I love though, sorry!

What book are you reading right now?

I'm currently in the middle of Legendary, by Stephanie Garber

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

I take things that I (or other people) fear the most and try to put a fun or wholesome spin on it

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I love going to the gym, reading, and I also play video games. At this current point in time, I am pretty obsessed with Fortnite, but I'm also trying to get through the Arkham series. :)

Do you have any new books in the works?

I am currently writing part two of the Afterlife Duology. And I have a few other ideas I'd like to bring to life soon :)
