James Hutchinson

J.W. Hutchinson is an author, artist and educator who believes that every child is a genius. As a proud father and former stay-at-home dad, J.W. believes it’s important for parents to not only encourage their child’s imagination but to view it as a sacred gift (as Einstein called it) rather than a cute passing phase. Nurturing and stimulating their creative faculties, he believes, will help them become open minded adults with a greater ability to “think outside the box.” Over the last decade J.W. has been inspiring kids in Southern California as their music teacher. He is now an author on a mission to share his stories with the world. When a feisty hummingbird took up residency in his backyard, J.W. was inspired to write and illustrate the Napoleon Hummingbird series. The stories teach children valuable lessons in a fun and unique way, through the emotions of the colorful hummingbird characters. J.W. also enjoys cooking healthy meals for his nature-loving family.
