ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Author, editor, marketer, and coach, Jana S. Brown fell in love with the written word as a child. It's a passion, and sometimes obsession, that lasts to this day. Writing under three pennames she teaches and enthralls with romances to tingle the soul, and adventure to take you away.

Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

I'm a jack of all trades, master of some. Mommy, cook, crafter, writer, educator and foodie, I dabble in a lot of things. I find that it's both satisfying and informs my writing as it's much easier to get things right when I've tried them myself.

When and why did you start writing books?

I grew up loving stories and reading. I wrote my first short stories in middle school on an old style strike key typewriter. My first book was finished when I was about 14 and I still have a very lovely rejection letter from Tor Books informing me that I still had a lot to learn, but encouraging me to keep going!

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

Being an author was always the plan, from the time I was about 8 I wanted to be a mom and an author. These days I'm juggling both and loving it.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

Oooh... that's really hard. Pass! I just can't choose.

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

Discovering You has been the hardest to date because it was the first true romance book I'd ever written, and there were a lot of things about romance that I thought I understood, but I totally didn't.

Who is your favourite author and book?

Umm.. yes? I have a lot, but I come back to Illona Andrews, J.R.R. Tolkein, and Terry Pratchett the most.

What book are you reading right now?

Warmaster 4 by Melissa McShane. It's not out yet for the general public, but guys, it is SO good.

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

Oh, everywhere! I'm one of those authors who constantly has ideas going on.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

HAHAHAHA... what's spare time?

Do you have any new books in the works?

I'm finishing the last book in the War of the Lich series, then right behind that is a new romance book.
