ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Jason Prugar is a filmmaker, novelist, short story writer and king of useless knowledge (great for trivia!). He enjoys playing and watching sports, spending time with his family and consuming stories in all their forms. He lives in Pennsylvania with his family and three dogs.

Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

I'm the oldest of 2, I am descended from a Mayflower passenger and belong to Clan Buchanan through my paternal grandmother. I have two kids, and played college basketball and volleyball, which I still enjoy today. I am the biggest Star Wars fan I know and I am the king of useless knowledge, specifically for sports and film. I also like to make short films, one of which played in a theater that was shown in the Diane Lane film Unfaithful.

When and why did you start writing books?

I started writing books in college. My friend made a short film for an English class and made me realize creative pursuits were meaningful and attainable.

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

I HAVE to write and create; it's who I am.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

That's like saying which child is your favorite. Let me just say that

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

I would say The Petticoat Society, because I had to nail down daily life in Victorian England.

Who is your favourite author and book?

My favorite book is the Three Musketeers. I cannot say I have ONE favorite author, but some of them are Jim Butcher, Sebastian DeCastell and Chuck Palahniuk.

What book are you reading right now?

I am reading two: Batman: Resurrection by John Jackson Miller and The Will of the Many by James Islington. I will soon add If Kennedy Lived: The First and Second Terms of President John F. Kennedy: An Alternate History Book by Jeff Greenfield.

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

There isn't just one place, but it's from life, things I read/watch, situations I experience or hear about, or sometimes "wouldn't it be cool if..."

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Spending time with my family, watching films and sports, reading playing basketball and volleyball and hanging out with friends.

Do you have any new books in the works?

That's a loaded question, LOL. For right now, I have two that will be published in 2025 and I plan on a total of 10 for my Garrison Chase series.
