Kaighla Rises

Kaighla Rises is the author of "Evryn, the Light," which won the Ampersand Award for Prose and was nominated for the Pushcart Prize in 2023. She is also the author of "wellspring," a poetry collection that follows her grieving and healing process after her divorce in 2020. Her memoir, "Things That Shatter"—published under the pen name Kaighla Um Dayo—is the winner of the 2019 Daybreak Press Award for Best Biography. Her work has also been published in Pulse & Echo Literary Magazine, and Kaighla was the Featured Poet in the 2022 inaugural issue of Hyssop + Laurel Magazine.
