Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

I grew up in a small town in Mount Vernon, New York. Watching Saturday morning cartoons and reading comic books as a child, this is what I believe turned me into cartoonist. It also made me want to create my own characters and stories. As a self-taught artist and creator, I can finally create my own worlds with the stroke of a pen...or pencil.

When and why did you start writing books?

I starting writing my first book in 2007, pressed on time, I wrote and illustrated a rather crude book also entitled Ferald. This new Ferald book is what the first book should've been. As for the reason why, I like turning a blank piece of paper into art.

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

Simply put, to give my characters their own realm and stories.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

Ferald, he's upbeat and unruly, adorable and adventurous, brave and emotional.

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

Ferald, like birth, your first born is always the most difficult.

Who is your favourite author and book?

Maurice Sendak and Where The Wild Things Are.

What book are you reading right now?

The complete "Calvin and Hobbes" box set by Bill Watterson.

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

Nature, animals and children.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Drawing, painting and watching animated shorts, both new and classics.

Do you have any new books in the works?

Yes, I'm working on multiple books at once, so it's going to be a while before you see any of them. I will be bringing other characters (Dweeblinks, Boomi Cats, Short Sleevez, Qwiby and Mamamacanz) that I have created into the realm of publishing. However, my second Ferald book is my main focus right now in terms of writing.
