ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Kylie Rae is an author from Texas. She enjoys all things creepy and horror related. When she isn't reading or writing, she's probably listening to metal music or drinking coffee. She has two boys who make every day an adventure.

Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

Besides the obvious of reading and writing - I love live music (metal specifically) and hockey games. My favorite drink is a good cup of coffee, seconded by a strong margarita. I have two boys who drive me insane - in the best way.

When and why did you start writing books?

I remember writing stories ever since I was a child, seven or eight, I think. And there was always at least one person who encouraged me, so I continued doing it until it became the best part of my day.

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

It's the only thing I can see myself doing for the rest of my life.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

My favorite book of mine would have to be The Sweet Water Affliction because it was the story I wrote while pregnant with my tiny tot. I was worried I wouldn't be able to continue working on my books when he was born, but we found a way and it made its way to publication.

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

I think I grow as a writer with every new project I take on. They're all hard in their own way.

Who is your favourite author and book?

Currently I'm obsessed with Blake Crouch's Recursion.

What book are you reading right now?

The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

Everywhere. Reading articles, watching movies, talking with my friends - I get ideas all the time.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Hanging out with my family and friends, reading, listening to music.

Do you have any new books in the works?

Always. I'm always writing and editing and there will always be another book coming.
