ABOUT THE AUTHOR

My name is Larry Nielsen. I was born and raised in South Florida in the USA. I found that I enjoyed writing and especially self-help non-fiction books. I write from my personal experience and perspective as a husband, father, brother, son, and law enforcement officer. I have worked in law enforcement for over 17 years. I have seen a lot and been through a lot. I learned from both the good and bad.

Usually when someone calls a law enforcement officer to intervene in a situation, they are not having the best day. I can’t say that I have seen it all because you never see it all but I’ve seen a lot. Seeing all that I have seen takes a toll but it also teaches a lesson. That, on top of being a husband and father, really give me a wider perspective of the human condition. I know what I have been through and what I have seen others go through. I try to translate that into positive lessons to share with my family as well.

It’s important for me to say that being a law enforcement officer does not define who I am. I never let it. I believe, because I never let it, that I can see the greatness inside of myself that extends beyond the career, the badge, and the title. I believe that we all have confidence, resilience, and leadership inside of us. We just need to find and foster it. I believe that we can all live the lives that we imagine in our dreams but we need to believe in ourselves and take action. I also believe that people can lead in many different ways. It’s not just about being a boss. It’s about being the example in all aspects of your life. This is at the center of my beliefs that make me who I am, not just pages in a book.
