Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

I'm a bibliophile through and through. I learned how to read at the age of three, and haven't stopped reading since. I stick to novels, with Joanne Harris and Stephen King being my two favorites. I also like playing video-games with my husband and, of course, writing. Watching movies is a favorite pastime of mine as well. As long as it's got a good story, I'll read, watch, and play it.

When and why did you start writing books?

I started writing when I was around fifteen, and hasn't stopped since. I'd always liked telling stories, but until that point, I'd only drawn my tales. My mother suggested I write them instead. The rest, as they say, is history.

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

I love doing it, and I'm good at it. That seems like a sound career choice to me!

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

Honestly, my second book is thus far my favorite because I loved writing the post-apocalyptic setting and the monsters that inhabit it. I also had a blast writing the love story that is closely interwoven with the plot of survival.

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

So far, I can't say.

Who is your favourite author and book?

Joanne Harris and Stephen King are my two favorite authors. As for books, ah, the list goes on and on. Some of my all-time favorites include 'Carrie', 'The Book of Lost Things', 'Zel', 'Doctor Sleep', and 'Finders Keepers'.

What book are you reading right now?

'The Secret Life of Bees' by Sue Monk Kidd

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

A little bit from everywhere: real-life events, my own life, and the media I consume. I take these different elements and stitch them together like Frankenstein's monster. The thread I use is the theme, which is mandatory for my work.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I read, take naps, play video-games with my husband, and sew.

Do you have any new books in the works?

Oh, yes. Several.
