When and why did you start writing books?

I started writing stories around age ten, mostly to entertain myself. I didn't get serious about writing and publishing until I was out of college and had more time to commit to learning the craft and making connections.

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

I think I'm still deciding! Right now, writing is a second career, my true passion, and one I hope to grow. I am miserable when I'm not writing, which was the signal I needed to make writing a priority in my life.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

Tied Together is the first story I had published, and it's antihero, Ben Sheridan is one of my favorites. He is a killer, and he's served his time. I wrote him because I wanted to make him compassionate, for the reader to understand why he did what the did and why one woman, in particular, would love him.

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

The Midheaven series is turning out to be one, giant learning experience. When I drafted the first three books, more than 20 years ago, not much research had been published on the topic of the Grigori, Nephilim, empaths, and spiritual warfare. These days, however, I'm scrambling to keep up with the data coming out and to incorporate the appropriate bits into the stories.

Who is your favourite author and book?

interview with the Vampire, by Anne Rice. I enjoyed the majority of her work, especially the books on Christ. She also loved her fans and responded to emails personally (at least mine on two occasions).

What book are you reading right now?

The Unseen Realm by Dr. Michel Heiser Birthright by Timothy Alberino

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

I pull strings by asking "why" and "what if?" - anything to push the boundaries and see what's possible.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I enjoy my family (new grandmother!), my dogs (GSD and Scottie) and just got my passport to see where it will take me.

Do you have any new books in the works?

I'm continuing the Midheaven series and have a contemporary age gap romance that should come out in 2024.
