ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Hello. My name is Nicholas, and this is my first work of non-horror-focused fiction. I have worked as a co-writer and a ghostwriter in the past, and I currently teach high school and middle school history. I live in New England with my wife and family, and I write and read obsessively.

Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

I'm 51 and teach history to high school and middle school students. I enjoy reading and writing and collecting books. I'm slowly building a collection of John Steinbeck and Stephen King first editions.

When and why did you start writing books?

I started writing at a young age, but I didn't get serious about it until about ten years ago, after I was injured and laid off from work.

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

At this point, writing isn't a career. I would love for it to become a career, but I have a family that needs the steady, reliable income of a regular 9-5 job.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

This book, KIllers in Their Youth, is my favorite. I poured a lot of myself into it.

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

Again, Killers takes that title, too. There are some scenes that were really difficult to write because they brought up painful memories from my childhood.

Who is your favourite author and book?

John Steinbeck is my favorite author, and his book "Cannery Row" is my favorite.

What book are you reading right now?

Currently, I'm reading a small piece on JRR Tolkien's battles and how they were influenced by his knowledge of various lore and myths.

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

Well, a lot of the inspiration for this book came from my own memories, from the interactions I had with my father's friends.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I enjoy reading and writing or building Lego sets. I really enjoy Lego bricks.

Do you have any new books in the works?

I do. I'm co-writing a book with another author and writing two more books of my own material.
