ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Paul Adelson has spent his entire career in the Cyber Security and IT worlds, totaling over 22 years! He's worked as a Help Desk Analyst, Field Technician, Geek Squad technician, Digital Forensic Examiner, Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst and Shift Lead, Incident Responder and currently is an Insider Threat Tech Lead. Paul takes great joy in helping people to better understand technology and prevent them from becoming cyber victims. He has helped people in person, over the phone (thanks, family!), and remotely over a network. If he can find a common body of knowledge between himself and who he is talking to, he can use it to explain just about anything technology-related. When Paul isn't writing, he can be found traveling, gaming with friends or being prompted for attention by his cat, Nola. This is his first book.

Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

My name is Paul Adelson and I live outside of Pittsburgh, PA. I've worked in Cyber Security and IT for over 20 years! I love to travel and explore the world! Hobbies include: an ever-increasing Lego backlog, playing games of all kinds, reading, spending time with family and friends, writing (this is a recently acquired hobby), listening to music and watching tv/movies. The boss in my house is my 9-year old calico, Nola. She likes to lay down between the edge of my keyboard and the edge of my desk, forcing me to type over her. She loves to sleep, get the zoomies and look at the world outside

When and why did you start writing books?

I've thought about writing fiction for a number of years. I still have notes from my idea for my first fiction book but the realities of life moved that by the wayside. Based on personal experiences, I decided to make my first book based off of information I've learned throughout my career

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

Writing is not my career (yet) but I could see it happening. Among other things, it's a career that can be done from anywhere in the world!

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

As I only have one book so far and it's Non-fiction, I'm gonna say that it's my favorite book :-)

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

None yet

Who is your favourite author and book?

Favorite author is Vince Flynn (RIP) and his Mitch Rapp series. He knows how to build tension and get you to a point that you can't put the book down

What book are you reading right now?

The Last Command (book 3 of the Thrawn Trilogy) by Timothy Zahn

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

So far, life and career experiences

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Travel, work on my backlog of Lego sets, spend time with family and friends, try out local restaurants wherever I am

Do you have any new books in the works?

Possibly... :-)
