ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Do you believe in magic? Rebecca Main does. Her magic wand is a well-worn pen that’s been known to weave stories that transport readers to other worlds. Rebecca comes from a long line of scéalaí and honed her skills with a Bachelor of Art in English from the University of Illinois.

Other enchanting pastimes of Rebecca include traveling and showering her two cats, Dorcas and Pudge, with love.

Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

Outside of reading and writing, I love to travel. In May 2017, my husband and I quit our jobs to travel the world. It was spectacular and completely life-changing, it's also where I decided to take a chance on my dream of writing. I wrote the majority of my first series, A Soulmark Series, abroad. Coven was written in China, Midnight Scoundrel in Florence, Italy, Wardens of Starlight saw Budapest, Hungary, and Ireland, Mr. Vrana was written while traveling Central America (but mostly Guatemala), Lycan Legacy in Bali, and Lunaria back home in Chicago. Oh, and I love to bake.

When and why did you start writing books?

I started writing in 2017 because it seemed like the perfect opportunity to put my dream into action.

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

My husband. His belief and support pushed me to make it into a full-time career.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

My favorite book is probably Mr. Vrana with Covet the Night as a very close second, and my favorite character is Jax. His character arc, which is still in progress, is going to be EPIC.

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

That's a tough one. Mr. Vrana in many ways was difficult to write because of the style I chose to tackle the book in. It contains many historical flashbacks and the task of fact-checking was tedious. However, Lycan Legacy also deserves an honorable mention. With Lycan Legacy, I faced a lot of imposters syndrome, and that really left me struggling for a while.

Who is your favourite author and book?

Erin Morgenstern's, The Night Circus

What book are you reading right now?

Vicious by V.E. Schwab

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

Music mostly. I love listening to epic musical scores and moody lyrical music because they paint such vivid scenes in my mind's eye.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Crafting! I love being able to make something with my hands.

Do you have any new books in the works?

Yep! I'm working on my newest series, Ascent of the Wicked, at this very moment.
