Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

I love nature, poetry, literature, art, music, philosophy, and science. I have a degree in English Literature. I'm also an artist (real and digital media) and musician (acoustic + electric guitar, bass guitar, piano/keyboard).

When and why did you start writing books?

I've been writing since I was young and have been working on my poetry for many years. I've also written short stories, plays, essays, and have been working on literary theory for many years. In 2022, I published my debut poetry collection (The Humbling and Other Poems). In 2023, my second book (May We Learn from the Earth) will be published.

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

It was something that always felt natural and necessary. I grew up surrounded by books. Reading and writing have been essential to me throughout my life.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

I have always loved literary classics and compelling characters, whether they're from the plays of William Shakespeare, the works of Jane Austen, or elsewhere. The Four Quartets by T. S. Eliot has fascinated me throughout my life. I also love the poetic works of Mary Oliver, Billy Collins, and many other poets. I provide a comprehensive list of poets in my first book, The Humbling and Other Poems.

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

My first book was many years in the making. I really should say it took decades, because it was something I voluntarily put off in favor of working on my craft. I did not simply wish to release a book of my poems. My hope was to create something that reflected great care and consideration, a book that could present ideas and perspectives to readers while enabling anyone to learn more about poetry and some of the thinking that goes into my poetic compositions.

Who is your favourite author and book?

This is a tough one. I mentioned Jane Austen and T. S. Eliot, two of many authors I hold dear. I would have to say Eliot and The Four Quartets, but the answer is subject to change, as different authors and books have been significant in various ways to me throughout my life.

What book are you reading right now?

Cotton Candy by Ted Kooser

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

Nature, life, being in love, and, often enough, anywhere at any time.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Playing guitar, playing chess.

Do you have any new books in the works?

Yes! Stay tuned!
