ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Ruth Kyser is a native Michigander—wife, mother, and grandmother—who writes Christian Inspirational Romance. Ruth has had a wide variety of careers in her lifetime—ranging from accounting, working at a YMCA Summer Camp for kids, owning and operating a hardware store with her husband, to being an insurance agent for twenty years. She recently retired (for the second time) from a part-time job as a church administrative assistant. Now her focus is centered on writing Christian Fiction. In her spare time, Ruth enjoys sewing, quilting, gardening, and searching out her family genealogy. She also enjoys reading -- almost as much as she loves writing!

Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

After retiring from being a property/casualty insurance agent for twenty years, I now write full-time. I also enjoy sewing, quilting, gardening, and searching out our family genealogy.

When and why did you start writing books?

I've written stories since I was a child. Reading was always my favorite thing to do, and I always wanted to become an author. But I didn't become serious about my writing until my forties.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

Sam Morgan and the Morgan family series (including the Bluecreek Ranch series) are some of my favorites. I spent time with the Morgan family in my head for six years while I wrote these books, and they will always be special to me.

Who is your favourite author and book?

There are many current authors I enjoy reading. But growing up, it was the books by Bess Streeter Aldrich that made me want to become an author.

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

Ideas for my stories come from life. I might hear a song and the lyrics give me the seed of a story. Story ideas are everywhere.

Do you have any new books in the works?

There is always another book in the works!
