ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Renegade writer with a twisted sense of humor. Coffee and hot sauce fanatic. World traveler. Science Fiction addict. Reach out to me at my website toddborho.com

Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

I love to travel and experience different cultures. It's not just fun, but it really gives a creative spark and inspiration. Drinking coffee and reading science fiction all day is one of my guilty pleasures. I'm also a bit of an adrenaline junky, so I'm prone to doing some extreme sports like skydiving.

When and why did you start writing books?

I started writing around 2014. Writing gives me a sense of purpose. The future is influenced by what information people take in, and fictional stories are a huge part of that. They're also fun. So I decided to try and shine some light towards the future by creating fun stories today.

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

To be perfectly honest, I've only been able to write part-time over the years. I haven't had enough sales to make it a career, although that is the dream.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

I'll give two answers. I love the character "K" from my book "James Bong". His deadpan wit, intelligence, and goofy demeanor make him a top-notch character. My favorite novel is "SeAgora". It has a lot of interesting characters and plot twists, along with some futuristic tech that I had a lot of fun dreaming up.

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

Agora One was the most difficult to write, just because of the scope of what I was creating. Imagine a space ship the size of a planet, with multiple species aboard, that can travel across a galaxy in about a month. Just coming up with details of all the species was hard enough, but then I had to add in the tech, plot points, and character details. The brainstorming and planning stages of Agora One were quite lengthy and tedious. At the end of the day, though, always fun to write.

Who is your favourite author and book?

Too many to name. I love "Stranger In A Strange Land" by Robert Heinlein. Pierce Brown and Neal Stephenson are mind-bending and fun to read.

What book are you reading right now?

I'm currently reading the "Noumenon" series by Marina Lostetter.

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

I've been inspired by so many things, but probably the biggest influence is hope that humanity can continue into the future on a creative path, rather than a destructive one.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I don't really have a lot of spare time, but I do love walking on the beach, breathing deep, and letting my mind wander.

Do you have any new books in the works?

Not at the moment, but "Curious Katie Season 2" might be on the radar soon. If I can find the time, I would love to write a sequel to "Agora One".
