Woo-ran Park is a psychoanalytic therapy specialist who runs a therapy clinic called “Sanctuary” in Seoul, South Korea. She earned her master’s degree in counseling psychology at Dongguk University and her PhD at Seoul University of Buddhism. She formerly worked as a counselor at Ansan Psychiatric Clinic and Seoul Metropolitan Counseling and Welfare Center for Youth. She has conducted more than 10,000 in-person psychoanalysis and dream interpretation sessions.
Park left university to join the convent, where she immersed herself in the studies of spirituality and psychology, believing her life’s calling was to pray for the forgotten and abandoned. Unable to find answers to fundamental questions about the human life and mind, she left the order after ten years but continued exploring questions about the human condition and identity as a psychoanalyst.
At Sanctuary, she now helps people work through a range of difficult life issues. She is also studying Lacanian psychoanalysis at Lacanian Praxis Institute.
Park is the author of several books, including Break Away from Your Husband to Live as Yourself and The Power of Self-Confident Children (co-author).
