When widow, Charlotte Heber, moves to the small town of Aspen Ridge, Colorado, high in the Rocky Mountains, she has high hopes of meeting a handsome cowboy and starting a new life. But months pass, and the only cowboy she’s met doesn’t seem interested. She’ll have to be content with spending yet another Christmas alone.

Boone Skinner has avoided marriage for almost seventy years. A confirmed bachelor, he’s content to run his horse ranch in Peakview County by himself with no one to keep him company except for his two rescue cats, Rip and Lloyd.
