The Dragon Ship's Captive: A Historical Romance Novel (An Evening Romance Book 2)

Her home burned. Her father died by his blade. And now she belongs to him. When Viking raiders reduce Aoife’s village to ash, she loses everything—her father, her home, her freedom. Dragged aboard the enemy’s ship as a captive, she vows to hate the cold-eyed warrior who commands it with every breath she has left. Thorvald Jarlson has never questioned an order in his life. But the fierce, unbroken woman he was sent to capture is nothing like the prize his father promised him—and the longer she’s at his side, the harder it becomes to remember why he should want her gone. A storm that nearly costs them both their lives. A stolen night neither of them planned. And a secret about Aoife’s bloodline that makes her far more valuable—and far more dangerous to love—than either of them ever imagined. When enemies conspire to tear them apart and blood is spilled to keep them together, Thorvald and Aoife must decide what they’re willing to sacrifice: duty, inheritance, even life itself—for a love that began in ashes and hatred, and refuses to die. A sweeping tale of enemies-to-lovers passion, betrayal, and the kind of love that survives storms, swords, and the edge of death itself.
