Fifteen-year-old adventurer, Selli, is the last remaining Samúð in Haltasia – the only living being with the power to travel between the weird and wonderfully dangerous Enclaves and keep the fragile peace. Every other Seeker has been slain in their beds, leaving her alone, weighed down with guilt and in danger from the unknown assailant.

When children start to disappear from the Enclaves, Selli is tasked with solving the mystery. Her adventures will take her from the familiar forests of home to the frozen peaks of Smillia and a sacrificial ceremony in Taiga, to face the many demented, fiery monarchs of Nepolite and the hollowed-out dwellers of The City, who live only for consumption and accumulation.

The vast abandoned library is her only solace in the noisy sprawling City.

If she finds the children, she will be a step closer to discovering the truth about the Samúð massacre, but only if she can solve puzzles from beyond the grave, outrun her stalker dragon, fight her own demons, discover her hidden abilities and learn the incredible healing power of forgiveness.

As an avid reader of all things fantasy, especially elves and realms, and a huge fan of Lord of the rings, the world of warcraft etc, this book was a really cool read, The braveness and courage of Selli and Elf who is also an empath, was such a brilliant twist! As an empath myself I found myself being her while reading it, when she ran through the forests when being chased by the Tagians... I hope there is a second book, certainly reads like that in the end! Highly recommended...
