The Vet's Apprentice

If Princess Leia wanted to become an animal doctor, and Darth Vader intended to destroy the planet's livestock, wouldn't Obi-Wan Kenobi have to be a vet? When seventeen-year-old Luna Auer loses her scholarship, though no fault of her own, she goes on a work-study program to a remote planet. Once, there, she uncovers a plot, by the corporation she works for, to eliminate the planet's unique hybrid animals. Will Luna be able to prevent their destruction with the help of an eccentric motorcycle-riding veterinarian and his sidekick, Rueben, a dog with chameleon traits? Fans of Dr. Dolittle will enjoy the voyage, its illustrated exotic animals, and the people who care for them.
