ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I was an avid reader long before I became a writer and I was a blogger long before I became a novelist. But these days, writing fiction that helps people escape reality for a bit is my greatest joy.

My first novel was written at a cramped table at my favorite Starbucks with my infant daughter in her car seat at my feet. These days I tend to write in my cozy little home office with a dog or two under my desk. The people watching isn't as good, but the company and the cheap coffee can't be beat.

My first Paranormal Women's Fiction series launched July 26, 2022 and there are no words for how excited I am to be sharing this book with all of you.

Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

I'm a big crafter, but as someone with ADHD, I often jump from craft to craft. Last year I was all about quilting, this year I'm more into making purses and other things from the heaps of fabric I bought last year!

When and why did you start writing books?

I can't remember not writing stories, but I wrote my first book when my second daughter was born. It took me a year to write, three to edit, and even longer to find representation. I wasn't thrilled with how the small press handled marketing, so when the rights to that book reverted to me, I published it under my own imprint and got to work writing another!

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

Of all the things I've tried, this is what I love doing best. It helps that I have years and years of social media marketing and content marketing under my belt. That aspect of the business comes more easily to me than to most.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

I just released book 3 in my paranormal women's fiction series and I have to say that's my favorite so far. It has some higher stakes than the first two, and it forced me to face some tough stuff from my past and process it so I could get past my own hang-ups and focus on my MC's. (No spoilers!) AS for my favorite character, I have to say it's Hattie, the woman who owns the magical pet shop next to the MC's bakery. One day I'll write her story... just as soon as it comes to me!

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

As I mentioned earlier, book 3 forced me to confront some of my inner demons. It was hard, but super cathartic.

Who is your favourite author and book?

Can't I just tell you which is my favorite child?

What book are you reading right now?

I'm reading the Witches of Keating Hollows series by Deana Chase.

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

Life, friends, my imagination. Sometimes I just talk to my characters and see what they have to say. In all seriousness, my books are heavily focused on friendship and support from friends and I draw heavily from my own friend group interactions.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I love going to the beach to throw a ball for my dogs. They always have such a fun time, it helps me relax and be in the moment.

Do you have any new books in the works?

Of course! I'm working on book 4 in the series, Sweet and Sour Spells. It's taking the story in a slightly different direction and giving a side character a little more of the limelight. I'm excited to really dig in!
