ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Born in Burundi to Rwandan parents, I immigrated to Canada at the age of 15 and am proud to call it my home. As a multilingual community worker with over 15 years of experience, I have dedicated my career to offering support and guidance to individuals facing social exclusion or adjusting to life in Canada. With a master’s degree in international relations from Université Laval (Québec, Canada) and a bachelor's in law and sociology from Laurentian University (Sudbury, Canada), I am deeply committed to community development. This commitment has driven me to work with numerous community organizations, both locally and internationally, including in Mexico, Rwanda, and Senegal. Since always, I have found solace in poetry; capturing the beauty of life and sharing my perspectives on events, whether joyful or tragic, experienced by myself or my loved ones, or inspired by various sources such as news, interviews, or even songs. In essence, anything can be a source of inspiration for my poetry writing. For me, words serve more than just a means of expression; they possess the power to unleash our emotions and foster a connection between oneself and others. Join me in my world where words connect us, spark change, and celebrate our shared journey.
