Book Two: Gift from Another World

Julia had made a terrible mistake abusing Howard. Searching a swamp for her boyfriend, she encounters a wise man who advises her on the nature of her new powerful manifestation and how to fix her relationship. Aided by his sage advice, she draws on one of her miraculous abilities to find Howard and saves his life in the nick of time. Back at home, Julia tells him how things are going to be as long as they are in this female-dominated world. During a snuggle, Julia subjects her boyfriend inadvertently to another terrifying experience.
After a yoga session, Julia is introduced to some absurd aspects of how the women of this world keep their men in line. Although abhorrent to Julia, she gets carried away when using her power to devastating effect on a thief who had stolen a precious memento of her dead father. Nagged by her conscience, she begins to worry about what this means for Howard.
Returning to her old world with Howard, she proceeds to finally settle a grievance with a man whom she holds accountable for her father's death. On the return trip, Howard collapses trying to keep up with her and experiences a new power of Julia.
The debilitating scale of Howard's inferiority is fully on display on a cliff-diving adventure with the couple's host family, whereon he is critically injured. He is healed by one of Julia's miraculous powers but feels deeply disgusted by it.
Having recovered, a visit to a museum opens his eyes to how far the power of the females of this world really goes. Terrified of what this means for him, he finds Julia flying into a fit of rage about his behavior, and is taught a lesson of how many ways there are for Julia to control him. Afterward, Julia realizes how depressing his situation must be and proceeds to create a distraction for him to lift his spirits.
Julia offers to help her host save her company from disaster and is unexpectedly successful by drawing on her monumental abilities and indulging in highly unconventional "morale-boosters" with the male staff.
After another unsuccessful attempt to not intimidate her boyfriend with her power, a frustrated Julia saves a man she became intimate with from torture by putting a Claim on him, which is sacred in this world. Returning home, she has another one of those terrifying dreams of impending doom.
To lift her boyfriend's spirits, Julia takes him on a ski trip where his misbehavior leaves him almost crippled by two teenage girls. Howard overtaxes his abilities again on the slope and nearly kills himself in an accident. Saved by a desperate Julia one more time, his resistance to acknowledging his secret desire for Julia in her new form melts away, and for the first time in this new world, the unequal couple engages in love-making.
