A decade ago, thieves stole antiquities from a museum display in Paris. The exhibit, titled “The Executed Queens” contained heirlooms belonging to Anne Boleyn, Marie Antoinette, and Mary, the Queen of Scots. No one has seen the relics since.

Giovanni di Caro is an expert on historic books, and the alleged forger of Galileo’s treatise on astronomy. He’s in a close relationship with Iris Dittmeyer, so he’s understandably apprehensive when he gets a mysterious letter:

The cryptic message contains an unpleasant revelation for Iris. Finding the stolen items is vital, but so is protecting her heart.

As they work to unravel the truth behind his death and locate the missing book, the couple encounter secrets everywhere… including inside a medieval book of prayers.
