Thistles

My collection of stories is a diverse range of events growing up and the fond memories of those who molded my life.

In one story, two groups of young kids have the event of the summer, a pea shoot fight.

In another story, our group of kids rides bikes with balloon mufflers up the “death hill” to race down the gravel and irregular terrain only to realize that there are deep potholes.

The final story is about a small town where most of our family have cottages and enjoy spending time together with family and friends, including a major family feast at Thanksgiving.

My collection of stories is a reflection of my own experiences and observations. I hope readers will find something to connect with in my stories and be entertained and challenged by my work.

At the young age of 5, he was an all-American entrepreneur and started selling flower seeds and Christmas cards in the neighborhood to over 100 customers. He had a newspaper route at 14 that he grew to 6 times its size, at 17 he was a short-order cook for about 5 years, and then at 22 he took over the family construction business and grew it to 39 employees and has been running it for 48 years.
