The Cretaceous Human(ts) Extinction: When the ants took over

This is a sci-fi adventure where the main characters must trek across the USA to get to Georgia, hoping to fix the world. What complicates matters is that ants have grown giants, and humanity is mostly gone. It is a rare opportunity to learn about these insects, and failing to do so could be dangerous for our heroes. The story is centered around Zach, the main character, and is told from the first-person point of view. Along for the ride is Jordana, the ant keeper who gets to relay information when necessary! More importantly, she has his back, not that she has a choice if she wants to go back home...
