The Love and Longing of a Medical man

The minor operations list at St Ethel’s Hospital comprises five boys requiring circumcision. Having completed the list, the surgeon, Dr Thomas Fairweather, is horrified to discover he has removed six foreskins!
A boy, the son of an important hospital benefactor, has inadvertently been circumcised! The next day a pair of ancient medical examiners win a coveted prize by failing all the candidates they examine that day. Thomas Fairweather is their last victim and they fail him despite his brilliant performance.
His career in ruins, he finds employment in a remote outpost of the NHS run by the wily, degenerate Dr Crow. Thomas resigns himself to a career in this backwater but the aristocratic and alluring Dr Gloria has other ideas. They fall in love although she is already engaged to another...
