A love story to answer the poems of the ages: Is true love a universal truth? The story answers: “But, of course. Love is the reason we walk among the gods." And yet so few of us will ever rise to that kind of falling.

And what a shame that is, and what a miss!

So the novel holds a mirror up to love. A cerebral mirror. The mirror of philosophy and fiction. Two strangers fall in love without remembering each other’s face. Both are married, and she has a five-year-old son. But in a handful of letters they discover the mirror-image of their highest self, a Looking Glass Friend who makes life worth living.

Looking Glass Friend, a new concept to talk about the oldest truth of all, so true that it is often lied about the most. Perhaps the novel feels so real because Looking Glass Friends began with real love letters written a quarter of a century ago. In tribute, the author gave herself the pen name E. L. Neve, an anagram of eleven: two individuals mirroring each other.
