ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.
I am an avid gamer, lover of the weird, and frazzled dog mom. I also love to fish, watch movies, and generally be chill at home.
When and why did you start writing books?
I started writing when I was 8. We had to write a fiction piece for a portfolio and I fell in love with it then. I think I was in high school when I started planning and writing books.
What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?
I've always been a book lover. I'm always amazed at the ideas writers have, and the words they use to bring them to life. The Count of Monte Cristo and Jane Eyre are two of my all-time favorite books because of the emotions they evoke, and Anne Rice, Maggie Stiefvater, NK Jemisin, and Tiffany Reisz are my top authors because they can paint such vivid pictures with all these beautiful turns of phrase that my mind just doesn't come up with.
Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?
Amy's Hunt (Solstice Quartet #2), which is out April 2022. I LOVE AMY. She's an absolute badass of a walking disaster. This book also includes a hipster wolf-shifter bookstore owner, an empathic front desk associate, enemies to lovers, and so much more. It also contains the line: "Werewolf hipster douchebag."
Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?
Part of Her Plan (Cupid's Cafe #5). I actually went through a bad depressive episode that lasted a lot longer than I want to admit and stopped working on it. Romance in general was hard at that point, and navigating two women who had their own heavy issues to deal with seemed impossible. I picked it back up during quarantine, when I was ironically in a better place mentally, and fell in love with them. I also don't write a lot of contemporary romance, so not having some world-ending event propping up the plot and it all being internal made it VERY difficult.
Who is your favourite author and book?
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir
What book are you reading right now?
I just finished Katherine McIntyre's Wisdom Check and am planning to dive into Landra Graf's Mercenary to Love. After that, I want to read The Last Letter from Your Lover by Jojo Moyes.
Where do you get your inspiration for your books?
Everywhere. Lately I've been listening to a lot of paranormal podcasts that cover conspiracy theories and cover ups and stuff like that, so I have a lot of ideas now. I've gotten inspired from songs, from shows, books, life. I
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Well, currently I'm learning Romanian through Duolingo. I love to learn new things. The amount of spare time I have fluctuates from day to day.
Do you have any new books in the works?
Yes!!! Solstice Quartet #2 comes out in April and I'm currently working on Solstice Quartet #3. I'm also plotting a new paranormal romance series (it's in my head but details are still TBD), and I'm going to start on a contemporary BDSM romance near the end of the year.
