Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

I’m Jack Griffin, founder and CEO of Light Up Ventures, where I coach and train Fortune 50 tech leaders to optimize their performance. Outside of work, I’m a proud Star Wars nerd who loves traveling—I’ve been to over 40 countries. I also enjoy spending time with my wife and three children in the Sierra Foothills of Northern California.

When and why did you start writing books?

I began writing this my book to share the insights I’ve gained from over 10,000 hours of coaching technical professionals. I wanted to provide a resource to help them communicate their ideas with clarity and confidence, even if they couldn’t attend one of my sessions.

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

Writing felt like a natural extension of my work as a coach. By turning my strategies into this book, I can help more people than I can in one-on-one or group sessions. It’s about scaling impact and empowering professionals to excel.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

Luminary: Master the Art and Science of Storytelling. It’s a culmination of years of coaching and my passion for helping technical professionals find their voice and tell their stories effectively.

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

Luminary was both the hardest and the most rewarding. Condensing years of coaching experience into a clear, actionable guide required a lot of reflection and effort, but the end result is something I’m proud of.

Who is your favourite author and book?

I admire authors who simplify complex topics, like Simon Sinek’s Start With Why. It aligns with my belief in the power of storytelling to inspire and lead.

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

My inspiration comes from my coaching sessions and the incredible professionals I’ve worked with. Each challenge they face and overcome offers valuable lessons that can help others in similar situations.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

In my spare time, I love spending time with my family and giving back through LUV’s philanthropic initiatives.
