ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I wrap truth in fiction to create compelling tales that are hard to put down.

Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

I love books. I am a voracious reader and a passionate writer.

When and why did you start writing books?

I started writing in 2006 and stopped for fifteen years as I needed to earn a living. I've started again now that I'm in my fifties, with the hope of leaving behind a legacy.

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

I love a good story that sticks in my head. For a period of time, I couldn't find the stories I wanted to read as I lose interest easily. So I started writing my own. The term starving writer is too real. I need to earn a living, so writing is a hobby to me. It's a passion I pursue while I take on full time jobs with monthly wages.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

I'm writing a new series - Short Stories from Long Hill, which is kind of like Animal Farm. I am having a blast with it. I guess that would have to be my favourite. The first book, Escape to Long Hill features Chico and Yvette, my current favourites.

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

The Quest for Immortality is the most complex and thought provoking work I have ever written. Each character has a fascinating story of his or her own. Their early decisions have eternal consequences.

Who is your favourite author and book?

J.R.R. Tolkein. I absolutely love The Lord of The Rings trilogy.

What book are you reading right now?

I'm reading two books concurrently. Hail Mary Project by Andy Weir and Now You Know Where it Pinches by Tope Omoto

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

From walks in parks, from gossip, from memories... It could be a sudden idea. Or something I read which sets me thinking.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I love writing. Now I sketch cartoons for some of my new books.

Do you have any new books in the works?

I have an entire new series in the works. Short Stories from Long Hill. It begins with chickens who escape captivity and who migrate to Long Hill. Over time, the thriving Long Hill community would include squirrels, wild boars, water hens, monkeys and the other animals I happen to encounter in my walks through the neighbourhood park.
