ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I am a licensed psychotherapist and business owner. I have been assisting individuals for the last 18 years to overcome trauma and anxiety. My background is in biopsychology and neuroscience. I began writing to extend my reach to many more people. Up until now, I can only practice in my state, but with books, I can reach anyone in the world. I have a passion for teaching others how to reach their full potential and overcome, or work through life's many challenges. I hope you enjoy my books!

Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

I am a business owner and psychotherapist, with a background in neuroscience and biopsychology. I love reading and writing and have authored several books in the self-help category. In my career life, I have a passion for helping others overcome anxiety and trauma, and in my private life, I love to read, ski and play with my precious puppy.

When and why did you start writing books?

I started writing in order to read a larger audience, one without boundaries. With therapy, I am only able to work in my local area, but books can reach every corner of the earth. I love helping others, so mainly write self-help books for teens and adults.

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

To be able to share my knowledge with the rest of the world. I have helped many people locally over the years and now I am able to help others all around the world. I also just love writing, it is a wonderful outlet for me.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

I think my first book is still my favorite, "Tools to Stop Overthinking" for teens. I struggled with this as a teenager and would like to be able to help other teens who find that challenging.

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

Probably the book on Borderline Personality Disorder. I wanted to go against the grain on this one and demystify and de-stigmatize individuals with this diagnosis. It comes from a point of compassion and understanding and is designed to help both sufferers of the disorder, as well as those around them.

Who is your favourite author and book?

I love the work of Brene' Brown. She is fantastic, especially her work around vulnerability. She does a fantastic job of reframing vulnerability to a super strength and something we all need in life. She is also an incredible story teller and uses her own personal experiences, good and bad, to accentuate her point.

What book are you reading right now?

Working on a novel at the moment called "The House in the Woods", by Ana Reyes.

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

From my clients mainly or my own personal struggles as well.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Watching a great movie, love dramas, reading and playing with my puppy Beau.

Do you have any new books in the works?

Yes, I am currently working on a workbook for couples to repair and enhance their relationships.
