ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Residing in the sunny southwest with her family, Karen enjoys the scenery of beautiful rock formations and cloudless blue skies. Here, she crafts stories of historical and contemporary romance that explore the enduring power of love, even in adversity. When she is not writing, Karen enjoys the playful antics of funny dogs and a curious cat, who provide endless laughter and companionship. Yet, it is her particularly stubborn horse that truly adds a touch of adventure to her days.

Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

I love the outdoors, especially if I'm riding my horse. Exploring new places on horseback is so much fun. I enjoy a little bit of gardening. Flowers in bloom are one of my favorite things. Dogs are also special. We have two of them. They are both young and keep us on our toes.

When and why did you start writing books?

I was born with an irresistible urge to tell stories. My older sister wrote them down for me before I learned to print. As an adult, I continued to write as time allowed. I now enjoy the time to pen all the books that I want to write.

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

It is the career of my dreams, and it has been since I was young. As Amazon and other sites evolved into viable marketplaces, I decided it was time to join in as a career writer.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

The books in my small-town contemporary romance series are my favorites at the moment. The emotions are real and the characters struggle with relatable issues.

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

My psychological suspense novel was the hardest to write. It was a bit out of my usual genre. The characters were a stretch to write because the romance was only a small part of the story.

Who is your favourite author and book?

I have an eclectic taste in books. I enjoy novels from authors such as Becky Wade and Beverly Lewis as well as well as suspense tales by Dean Koontz.

What book are you reading right now?

Pieces of Forever by Valerie Bodden

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

I get inspiration from many places. Sometimes a scene I observe from life, or a certain location may spur my imagination. Sometimes an experience from the past will spark an idea for a novel.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I enjoy streaming movies. It provides a chance for me to study character development while spending time with my husband.

Do you have any new books in the works?

Yes! The fourth book in my small-town Christian romance series will be completed soon.
