ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Meghann Whistler writes sweet Christian romance novels that won’t make your grandmother blush.

Her debut novel, Falling for the Innkeeper, was a #1 bestseller in the Clean & Wholesome Romance category on Amazon.ca. It was also named one of “Six Sensational 2020 Debut Series Romances” by the American Library Association’s Booklist Reader, and is currently a finalist for the 2021 Book Buyers Best Award.

Before settling down with her rocket scientist husband and raising three rambunctious boys, Meghann earned a B.A. in English from Amherst College and an M.F.A. in creative writing from Emerson College.

She is grateful to be living her dream of writing sweet, hopeful stories that demonstrate the power of love and grace.

Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

I’m a wife, mom, and Christian romance novelist who loves writing sweet, happy stories that WON’T make your grandmother blush! When I’m not writing, reading, or jamming out to Christian rock music, you can find me enjoying a relaxing evening with my rocket scientist husband (seriously—he’s a real, live rocket scientist!) or playing with my three kids.

When and why did you start writing books?

I’ve always been a voracious reader, and I started writing stories when I was in elementary school. My fifth-grade teacher was actually so impressed with the “stranded on a desert island” story I wrote on our classroom computer that he called my parents to tell them about it. That was some heady validation for a pre-teen girl! I completed writing my first full novel when I was in graduate school. I tried to sell that one to a publisher, but nothing ever came of it. I spent the next fifteen years building a career as a business writer. I enjoyed it, but it never held my heart the way fiction writing does.

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

I’ve always loved creative writing, but while I was working a day job, I didn’t have the time or energy to devote to creative projects. Once I became a stay-at-home mom, writing romance novels gave me something fun to daydream about while I was changing diapers and doing the laundry!

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

Hmm, I always fall in love with my heroes. I have a lot of fun writing about genuinely good guys who are kind, patient, and protective without being possessive or territorial.

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

I learned a lot about how to structure a romance novel while I was writing and editing my first published book, Falling for the Innkeeper.

Who is your favourite author and book?

This changes all the time for me, but right now I would say that Becky Wade is my favorite author. I absolutely love her book, Her One and Only. The heroine is fierce and feisty!

What book are you reading right now?

I just finished reading Laurel Blount's Lost and Found Faith, which was fantastic!

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

Everywhere!

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Read, of course, and read to my kids! I also enjoy playing badminton, rollerblading, and playing cards with my husband or board games with my kids.

Do you have any new books in the works?

I sure do! My new book, The Billionaire's Secret, is the first in a new series about a trio of Boston-based biotech billionaires. I'm working on books two and three right now!
