Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

I'm a geek. I love sci-fi and technology and work part-time as an IT consultant. I use the rest of the time to write science fiction novels.

When and why did you start writing books?

I began writing during the Covid lockdowns. I was reading a lot more and appreciating writing styles of various contemporary authors. I had this idea rolling around in my head about what life would be like a couple centuries into a Mars colony--if these billionaires ever managed to make to there. Scenarios, lifestyles, challenges, and people, took shape and I had a story.

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

A hobby at first, I took inspiration from those I shared my book with who said they thought the story was great and loved the characters I had created. So I took to improving my skill in the craft to polish the prose, tighten up the scenes, and make a more 'readable' novel. Further appreciation from early readers proved almost as satisfying as the creative process, so I decided to share more stories.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

While I personally relate most to Marcus Hollister in "Overlap: The Lives of a Former Time Jumper", my favorite is still Gift Ojo of the New Europa trilogy. She was the first character I envisioned in the colony. I told her tale in Colony's Dawn almost exclusively from her POV. She carried the story and the next two books and is fully developed, realistic, and inspiring.

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

My next novel, currently with an editor, has been the hardest to date. We are still settling on a name. It is more complex than my four previous novels and has subplots and character arcs that must be developed and fulfilled in unexpected yet believable ways. I finished the first draft before the end of 2023 and have been revising it and now working the finished touches with my editor. I'm excited to get this into reader's hands.

Who is your favourite author and book?

It is hard for me to point out one author. I currently enjoy reading several books from A.G. Riddle, a contemporary science fiction author. I recently loved "All the Light We Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr. He did an amazing job with that book.

What book are you reading right now?

I am catching up on a classic I somehow missed, "Fahrenheit 451" by Ray Bradbury.

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

From reading. Not only do imaginative stories interest me, I am fascinated by the prose and storytelling styles of various writers.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I enjoy tennis and sightseeing in and around North Italy, where I current live. I also do volunteer work with English-speaking immigrants in and around Milan.

Do you have any new books in the works?

Several. The closest to completion, maybe called "Finding Idyllium" or something similar, is about a parallel word. It teeters on the precipice of morality as a covert team from Earth works to undermine the stability of an idillic planet as the last hope for billions on Earth.
