Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

I have had a bunch of adventuresome hobbies, like hang gliding, motorcycling, hiking and camping. I also have spent much time learning about the American Civil War, reading and reenacting. Now I have more passive hobbies including amateur radio. And I'm transitioning hobby artwork, including drawing and painting, into what may become a source of income. Above all, however, I'm thoroughly fascinated by the unseen realm all around us, the spiritual, as revealed in the Bible. I taught fourth grade Sunday school for 34 years, and now I seek to help others understand that God created us, that we did not create Him. We need to get to know Him, personally and intimately.

When and why did you start writing books?

I had a brush with eternity during Covid. I took my first shot, but shortly developed angina, not knowing what it was. With a serious loss of stamina, I visited my doctor and had an EKG done. He said "It looks like you may have had damage to your heart. I can't let you go home." So, he checked me into the ER, and I had a cardiac catheterization which revealed over 90% blockage in my widow maker artery. A stent was placed, and I felt 100% better. But the next month I had my second Covid shot and soon developed the same symptoms, but not as profound. In for another catheterization, an 80% blockage was found. So, now I have two stents. I still contracted Covid, but recovered. I felt like I had something to say, so I started writing my story.

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

The need to get across what I have found to be important and true. So many people are consumed by the frivolous and superficial, finding nothing of this world that truly satisfies.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

My only book is an autobiography, but I struggle to not be my favorite character.

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

"My American Heritage: Our Nation Under Attack from Within" is the only book I've written. Thus it's been the hardest to write and is still stretching me.

What book are you reading right now?

The Bible, but also I just finished reading "Logbook of Life" by missionary aviator, Don Smith. I also recently read "Split Second from Hell" by Colonel Jack McGunkin, USMC Retired, Now I'm reading an amazingly well researched book titled "Hearts Torn Asunder" by Ernest A. Dollar, about the final days of the Civil War in North Carolina. Confederate General Joe Johnston was trying to link up his Army of Tennessee with Lee's Army of Northern Virginia. But Lee surrendered to Grant, and Lincoln was killed. The Army of Tennessee was literally starving from lack of food and other essential supplies. Sherman was on his heels, but even the Union army was exhausted and hungry, angered by Lincoln's death. It's the story of how demoralized both armies became in those last days. Finally, it became obvious that the South had lost the war, and both commanders worked together to bring about peace, barely able to maintain discipline in their respective armies. Incredible stories.

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

Reading and study, as well as personal experience.
