ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Hi! I'm Sonia, a passionate researcher, consultant, and writer with over 10 years of experience in psychology and organizational behavior. I've always been fascinated by what makes people tick—the motivations, the hidden wounds, and the traumas that might be holding them back from being their best selves. My journey led me to earn an MSc in Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health from King’s College London, and I'm also a certified NLP Practitioner. Alongside my academic background, my personal healing journey has embraced energy healing practices like Reiki, chakra healing, shadow work, and the Divine Feminine. I love integrating these transformative practices with evidence-based psychological methods and psychotherapy to offer a unique, holistic approach. I specialize in helping people heal deep relationship wounds and unleash their personal power. My mission is to empower you to strengthen your inner core, face your shadow self, reclaim your power, and live the life you've always dreamed of. Connect with her for more insights on love, self-discovery, and personal growth! I'm at @abstractedcollective on instagram and on YouTube :)

Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

I'm quite dreamy, I love to have fun and sense of humour is a very big thing for me. I'm addicted to all sorts of tea, love tiramisu and green-tea coated chocolate. I love travelling and cooking.

When and why did you start writing books?

I've always expressed myself best through words and have been writing in all my dayjobs. It took awhile to want to put myself out there for "public consumption" as alot of my work is based on my own trauma, wounds and healing. But I wanted to help others going through the same thing I went through, as I didn't really have much support back when I was still struggling through my wounds alone.

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

It has always been a childhood dream of mine and I decided to embark on it after a huge push by one of a spiritual/business mentor.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

I love Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice - her spunkiness, her character that was unconventional for her time, but she never bothered to change for anyone, her wit.

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

Retroactive Jealousy! It had been awhille since I've last had an experience like that, yet it's something that is so intense by the person experiencing it that I wanted to capture the emotions and mental processes accurately.

Who is your favourite author and book?

Wayyy too many for both fiction and non-fiction!

What book are you reading right now?

I can't focus on just one, so its three for me now: All about love - bell hooks, The Image - Daniel J. Boorstin, The 100-year life - Lynda Gratton, Andrew J. Scott

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

From 2 sources - 1) previous experiences that I went through and have healed from 2) intuitive downloads - topics that I have a "feeling" I'm going to have a lot of fun writing.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Reading, exploring different genres of music on Spotify! Watercolouring, graphic design, hanging out with friends, barre, exploring cafes and daydreaming :)

Do you have any new books in the works?

Yes! I have a book/journal on Shadow Work and Uncovering our Shadow side, a book on How energy healing practices and setting boundaries can work in toxic workplaces, Limerence and Our Shadow Self and a Journal on the Wheel of Life.
