CraveBooks is excited to announce a new opportunity for readers to become a Kickstarter backer and help bring new books into the world. If you’re already a reader-subscriber, you may have seen the banner in your daily emails and a couple of our first Kickstarter promotions. The emails look something like this, giving you a summary about the book and project as well as a few rewards.
Click the button in the email to learn more about the project and the author and discover more reward tiers to see which one excites you the most and is within your budget. Then select that reward tier to back the project.
Be sure to check out these exciting opportunities to discover books that haven’t been released yet, special editions of readers’ favorite books, and exclusive products related to your favorite fictional worlds. All projects are comprised of items never before published and some rewards will never be seen again, exclusive to the Kickstarter project.
Because of this, by becoming a Kickstarter backer, you play a role in ensuring new books are brought into the world. Your pledge, no matter how much, tells the author (and publisher) that you love what they’re creating and you want to make it a reality. You help ensure more books are published and in new and innovative ways. What an exciting opportunity to be a part of the process!
As a Kickstarter backer, you don’t actually pay anything until the project ends and only if it fully funds. The author (or publisher) doesn’t receive any compensation unless the project meets or exceeds its funding goal. That’s also the only way you’ll be able to receive your reward. If the project doesn’t fund, you don’t pay anything – and you don’t receive anything. That book or special edition or exclusive reward may never become a reality.
So, if you’re particularly excited about a project and want to make sure it funds so you can get your fabulous, exclusive copy of the book (or whatever reward you chose), be sure to share the project with others and encourage them to back it, too.
Kickstarter gives readers more power in ensuring publishing projects are, well, actually published. As a backer, you get to have a say in what books are brought to market and how.
