The Cottonwoods

When Amber Bradshaw was 12, her dying mother made her promise that someday she would find the family treasure brought to the U.S. by her great grandparents during WWI. Amber has been left the century-old farmhouse of the original family, but the farm on which it stands is to be sold. If Amber is ever to find the treasure, it has to be soon. She goes to the farmhouse and locates her great grandmother Ina's journal which tells of her bitterness with her husband who stole her dowry and ripped her from their homeland. It's an all-to-familiar concept to Amber, who had to become "mother" to her little sister, Claire, after their mother died. As Amber works to update the farmhouse, intending to sell it, Claire arrives at the farm, and she's had a baby. Amber and Claire's father is having major surgery so Claire leaves the baby behind and goes to see him. On her way back, she is in a car accident and dies. Now Amber has decisions to make about her destiny, Claire's child, the agro-company that is trying to buy the farm, and two men who are interested in her. Will she be the family member who finds the treasure? Will she sell the farm? Will the outcome be one that works for her? It's a landscape strewn with snares and promises and only time will tell.
