Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

I grew up in a boring little town during the 1980’s. So spent most of my time going to the local cinema and watching Spielberg, Lucas and Zemeckis films and lounging in the library reading various adventure and sci-fi books to escape.

When and why did you start writing books?

I started writing when I was around 13. It was a way to escape the boring little town I lived in. I also had a highly creative mind and lots of stories swirled in it and so I needed to get it out on paper.

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

It was a slow burn deciding to do this. I had always loved writing but life threw many ditractions in my way and it wasnt until about 2020 that I finally was in a place where I could sit down and just focus on writing.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

That's a tough question. I like them all. It's like asking which of your children do you like the most.

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

One I haven’t released yet. It required a lot of historical research to get things right. Although I write fiction, it is all based in the real world and some of it during different parts of history, so for me that needs to be accurate and needs a ton of time and research.

Who is your favourite author and book?

I don’t read many books. I don’t want to be influenced by what others write. The only book I really liked was ‘Do Androids Dreams of Electric Sheep’ by Philip K. Dick. (It later became a movie called Blade Runner).

What book are you reading right now?

None.

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

Usually, a life event will trigger the creative process. There is a lot of ‘me’ in my books and characters. Things that happen to my characters have been drawn from my own experiences. So it becomes very real.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Listening to movie soundtracks, going for walks, grocery shopping and feeding my fish. I like watching fish and other creatures in my home aquarium. It’s so fascinating to me as they go about in their own little world, completely oblivious to ours.

Do you have any new books in the works?

Yes, I have many. It’s a matter of pacing to bring them all into fruition. The current one is called 'Formosan Vampire.'
