Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

I am an author and poet currently living in Tallahassee, FL. In my free time, I enjoy writing, caring for my pets, photography, singing and just being around nature. I am definitely an outside person!

When and why did you start writing books?

I wrote my first "short story" when I was a little girl - maybe 7 or 8 years old. Somewhere in that age range. It was about a virus that was threatening to destroy humanity and the cure for it was ingesting orange peels (don't ask me why, that's just all I could come up with at the time). I wrote my first professional book when I was 21 years old. It was called Abounding In Love: A Collection Of Poetry and it was written at a time where I was really becoming fully aware of just how good God is. So I wanted to write something to celebrate that.

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

I have always wanted to be a professional author. Throughout my life, I have questioned many times whether that would be possible but I decided to just go for it and I am glad that I did. I love what I do. I was born to write!

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

My favorite book right now is Love Makes The World Go Round because three of my cats (I have a lot of cats!) make a cameo in it and I am so proud of them for that. I love that for them! It's also a really sweet book that was written to celebrate all the people in my life that have truly loved me at my best and my worst. It was also illustrated by an artist named Abigail Tan and she did a phenomenal job on it.

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

The hardest book that I have written so far has been Nighttime Lullabies: A Collection Of Poetry. It was not difficult to write because it was stressful or challenging in a technical sense, but it was a very emotional book for me to write because I was very vulnerable and open about my life in it. Even reading it is difficult for me to do because of that so I would have to say that that book is the one that has stretched me the most as a writer so far.

Who is your favourite author and book?

I read a lot of books so the answer to this question always changes. But I think I'm going to choose Little Women by Louisa May Alcott because that is the book that really made me want to become a writer in the first place.

What book are you reading right now?

At the moment, I am reading a lot of books on theology and religion. I have a list of books on theology that I want to add to my home library and that list is miles and miles long.

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

I get most of the inspiration for my books from my life and the lives of the people around me.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

In my spare time, I enjoy listening to music, playing with my cats, watching movies with my family, singing and being outside.

Do you have any new books in the works?

Yes. I am currently working on releasing some new children's books and I am very, very excited about that.
