ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Brett Marshall is a former soldier, intelligence analyst and security specialist, currently working in foreign affairs. He has survived officer training, cancer and the church.

A ‘preacher’s kid,’ he has endured a tumultuous relationship with organised religion. Following time away, relevant studies and various leadership roles, he has reflected deeply on the church’s nature – the good, the bad and the ugly.

Both his work and ministry have been informed by an analytical bent, diverse travel, exposure to prominent leaders and studying for a Bachelor of Theology (Sydney College of Divinity), Bachelor of Arts in History and Economics (University of New South Wales) and Master of Arts in Strategy and Policy (UNSW).

Brett lives in Canberra, Australia, where he is married with two children. He enjoys music, movies, reading, the Australian Football League, good food and exercising to burn it off.
